Former Pakistan player confesses after 27 years “I insulted Sachin”.

India and Pakistan are known as traditional rivals on the cricket field. Matches between the two teams always take the form of a war. Players from both the teams are also seen playing very aggressively in these matches. Due to this, there have often been disputes. Even in the World Cup match, it is seen that there are big disputes between the players of both the teams. Former Pakistan spinner Saqlain Mushtaq has brought to light one such old controversial memory.

Saqlain Mushtaq is regarded as Pakistan’s greatest spinner of all time. He has always been excellent against the Indian team. He often troubled a batting line-up filled with legendary Indian batsmen post-2000. He shared an anecdote from the same time recently in a podcast. he said,

“Sachin and I had a good fight at one point. I had come from playing county cricket at that time. We had a match in Canada. I was young at that time. I had more confidence in my own bowling. I had a fight with Sachin in the same zeal. I bowled him for no runs in the first over. After that, some profanity came out of my mouth while sledging. However, Sachin’s reaction to it was very different.”

Mushtaq added,

“Sachin came to me and said Saki, I never thought you would be talking like this. I thought you were a really good person.”

We kept thinking about the same thing after that and Sachin easily took notice of my bowling, said Mushtaq.
