Former Zimbabwe captain suffering from stage 4 cancer; Sports Minister calls on fans to pray
Former Zimbabwe coach all-rounder Heath Streak, is currently battling for life and death. According to media reports, Streak has been admitted to a South African hospital for treatment. Sports Minister of Zimbabwe David Coulter has given information about this by tweeting on his personal account. Zimbabwe Cricket also called for prayers for the good health of the streak.
Zimbabwe’s Sports Minister wrote, “Heath Streak has reached the end of his life. His family is moving to South Africa from the UK. It seems only a miracle can save him now.” He further said, “One name in the list of great cricketers of our country is Heath Streak who needs our prayers very much. We will all continue to pray for him and his family.”

Meanwhile, Shaun Williams, a cricketer from Zimbabwe and Streak’s close friend, gave his reaction on a cricket website and said, “Strike has colon and liver cancer and has now reached stage four. All I know is that Streak’s family should be near him in South Africa as soon as possible. I also messaged Streak and he replied. However, now his family needs to spend time together. I think the cancer is spreading very quickly. Because last week Streak went fishing.
Speaking further, William said Streak was my mentor and always tried to do something good for everyone. In fact, I owe all the credit to my mentor for where I am today. The streak is the first cricketer in Zimbabwean cricket history to take 100 wickets. After his resignation, he was accused of violating the International Cricket Council’s anti-corruption guidelines. Also in 2021, the International Cricket Council banned the streak for eight years. Admitting his mistake, Streak took full responsibility and apologized to everyone.
