‘From the time I started to understand cricket, Virat was for me…’, Gill’s big comment after scoring a century

There are some legendary players in international cricket who are looked up to as role models by youngsters who want to make a name for themselves in cricket. One of them is the legendary Indian player Virat Kohli. Virat has created many records till date. He inspires many young athletes across the country. Following his footsteps, many players are making a new identity in cricket. One of them is Shubman Gill who scored a century in T20, Test, ODI and IPL. Gill scored his maiden IPL century against Sunrisers Hyderabad on Monday (May 15). After this, Shubman Gill called Virat Kohli an inspiration.

‘Learned a lot from Virat bhai’
Shubman Gill scored 101 runs in 58 balls against Sunrisers Hyderabad. He also hit 1 six and 13 fours in this innings. After this innings, Gill praised Virat Kohli and called him an idol. He said that he has been following Virat since the age of 12-13. After learning about cricket, Virat is his role model. He has learned a lot from Virat. He also said that Virat’s batting, his dedication and courage inspire him.

Speaking to Star Sports after the match, Gill said, “From the time I was 12-13 years old, I followed Virat Kohli bhai the most. He has been my role model ever since I started learning cricket. I have learned a lot from Virat bhai. His batting and grit and determination inspires me.”

Shubman Gill completed 1000 IPL runs for Gujarat
Shubman Gill has been in superb form in the IPL 2023 tournament. He has scored 576 runs in 13 matches played so far. In the meantime he has also scored a century, which he did against Hyderabad.
