In the 61st match of Indian Premier League 2023, Chennai Super Kings vs. Kolkata Knight Riders teams were facing each other. In this match, the Chennai team suffered a shock defeat by 6 wickets. Captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni thanked the fans in a unique way after this match which was played at the home ground i.e. MA Chidambaram Stadium. After this, Gavaskar praised Dhoni. He said, “He has done a lot for India. He is a role model. He is an inspiration for many young players of India. It was a wonderful moment. As I heard, he is going to circle the field. I took a pen from someone and kept it with me. A player like Dhoni comes once in a century.”
