Geeta Phogat and husband Pawan arrested by Delhi Police, agitation continues at Jantar-Mantar

For the past few days, the wrestlers who have made the country’s name shine at the international level have been performing at the Jantar-Mantar ground in Delhi. It features big names like Vinesh Phogat, Sakshi Malik and Bajrang Punia. These wrestlers have united against the President of the Wrestling Federation of India Brijbhushan Singh. Just like that, the news of world champion Geeta Phogat and her husband being arrested by the police came out in Samovari.

Vinesh Phogat’s cousin Geeta Phogat came here on Thursday to reach the Jantar-Mantar where the agitation is going on. But the police had blocked the entry of those coming here. Even Geeta Phogat could not enter here. Geeta Phogat, who won India a gold medal in the Commonwealth Games in 2010, informed about her arrest by the police on her Twitter account. She had come with her husband Pawan Saroha to meet the wrestlers who were protesting at Jantar Mantar.

According to a police officer, along with Geeta Phogat, two or three other people were also detained in Jahangirpurjawal. Currently, the process of solving them is going on. A video has also surfaced on social media, in which Geeta is standing among all the police officers. She is asking all of them for permission to meet the protesting wrestlers. Meanwhile, these wrestlers had appealed to other wrestlers and supporters to gather at Jantar Mantar on Wednesday night. There are also accusations that the police beat the Andorrans between 11 pm on Wednesday itself.

Many wrestlers including Bajrang Punia, Sakshi Malik, Vinesh Phogat are protesting against the president of the wrestling federation Brijbhushan Singh.
