Beaumont became the first woman cricketer from England to score a double century in Test cricket. Tammy’s previous best score was 70.

88 years old record broken
Tammy, meanwhile, broke the 88-year-old record held by former England women’s cricketer Betty Snowball. Betty Snowball previously held the record for the highest innings in women’s cricket for England. She held this record 88 years ago. She scored 189 runs against New Zealand in Christchurch on 16 June 1935. It was the fourth highest knock overall in women’s Test cricket. In this Test, England won by an innings and 335 runs.

Tammy also broke Rachel Hayhou Flint’s record. Rachel scored 179 against Australia in July 1976. Tammy was beaten by Ashley Gardner with a personal best of 208. Tammy is the second England woman cricketer after Heather Knight to score a century in all three forms of cricket.

Tammy, 32, is just five runs short of breaking Australia’s Ellyse Perry’s record for the highest score in a women’s Ashes. Perry scored an unbeaten 213 in 2017. Tammy is the second opener to score a double century. Before her, Pakistan’s Kiran Baloch had done this feat against West Indies in 2004. At that time, she was dismissed for 242 runs off 584 balls.
