Defending champions Gujarat Titans thrashed 5-time champions Mumbai Indians by 55 runs in the 35th match of IPL 2023. On Tuesday (April 25), the Gujarat team got their fifth win of the season as they defeated Mumbai in the match played at the Narendra Modi Stadium. Captain Hardik Pandya gave a big reaction after this victory. He also praised bowling coach Ashish Nehra.

Gujarat team shined in both the divisions
In this match, Gujarat Titans scored 207 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs while batting first. During these runs Shubman Gill (56), David Miller (46), Abhinav Manohar (42) and Rahul Tewatia (20) hit the storm for Gujarat. When Mumbai set out to chase down 208 runs, they could only manage 152 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in 20 overs. So Gujarat won by 55 runs.

Noor Ahmed (3 wickets), Rashid Khan (2 wickets) and Mohit Sharma (2 wickets) shone well from Gujarat while bowling in Mumbai’s innings. Apart from him, captain Hardik Pandya also rushed to the tent after catching captain Rohit Sharma for 2 runs.

What did Hardik say?
Hardik Pandya commented after this victory. He said, “Our target was to keep playing according to the conditions. Leadership continues in my head, we are succeeding in this. Whatever decision is taken, it is my and Nehra Bhai’s decision. Our heads are the same.”

Abhinav was also praised
Speaking further, Hardik said, “The decision to take Noor to bowl was the same as the batsmen like Suryakumar, Green and David bat well against the fast bowlers. Now you can see the result. Abhinav Manohar would say that this is his hard work. I have seen from last year that the support staff try, they will practice for two hours.”

After the win against Mumbai, Hardik Pandya’s Gujarat team has moved to the second position in the points table with 10 points.
