Indian team’s middle order batsman Shreyas Iyer is now in the National Cricket Academy. He withdrew from the first Test match between India and Australia due to injury. Now it is being reported that Shreyas may also withdraw from the second Test match against Australia. This second match of the Border Gavaskar Trophy can be played from February 17 in Delhi.

No official information has been received from BCCI about whether Shreyas Iyer will play in this match which starts on Friday (February 17) at Delhi’s Feroze Jasha Kotla Stadium. But according to media reports, Shreyer Iyer may withdraw from the Delhi Test after the Nagpur Test. Shreyas recently shared a video from the National Cricket Academy in Bangalore. In the video, Shreyas was practicing strength and conditioning. Trainer S Rajinikanth was also seen with him this time.

After Shreyas Iyer’s exit from the first Test, he was sent to the NCA for rehab. In this case, he will have to play in domestic cricket first to come back for the second Test. It is for this reason that he cannot be directly included in the international squad before the second Test match. Shreyas Iyer may get an opportunity from the selectors to prove his fitness. Iyeral can prove his fitness in Irani Cup final. This match will be played between Madhya Pradesh and Rest of India between March 1 and 5. Earlier, Ravindra Jadeja also had to play one match in the Ranji Trophy before returning to the Test team in a similar manner.

Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah is also currently out of the team. He was not selected in the squad for the first two Tests against Australia. Bumrah was expected to make a comeback in the third Test match. But it doesn’t seem to be happening now. After the four-Test series, India also have to play a three-match ODI series with Australia. Considering the team’s upcoming schedule, Bumrah is said to be left out of the ODI squad as well. Bumrah can now be seen playing live in IPL 2023. The final of the ICC World Test Championship will begin on June 7. Bumrah’s role will be important in this match as well. Apart from this, the ICC ODI World Cup will be played in India this year. Bumrah will need to be fully fit for the World Cup, which is why the team management is trying not to play Bumrah in too many matches.
