“Hardik will make a name for himself in Test cricket”, the former captain expressed confidence

Indian cricket team’s veteran all-rounder and limited overs vice-captain Hardik Pandya has not been a part of the Test team for the past four years. During the recent ODI series against Australia, he said that he has no intention of returning to the Test team at present. Now the former captain of Indian team Sourav Ganguly has given his reaction on this issue.

Speaking during the ODI series against Australia, he had said that he had no intention of returning to the Test team. He admitted that I didn’t want a chance because I hadn’t done anything substantial enough to get into the Test team. Meanwhile, Sourav Ganguly said that he should play Test cricket.

Ganguly said,

“Hardik is known as a T20 specialist. However, I wish he should play Test cricket as well. Indian team wants him. If he returns to the Test team, he will be recognized for his game. He is a special cricketer despite playing in limited overs teams.”

Although Hardik is the vice-captain of the Indian team in limited-overs cricket, he has not been part of the Test team for the past four years. He played his last Test match during the 2018 England tour. Hardik’s Test career includes 532 runs at an average of 32 in 11 Tests. Along with that, 17 victims are also accumulated in his name. Many had said that Hardik should play in the final of the World Test Championship. However, he said that he does not want to play by taking the rights of other players.
