‘He has not committed any crime…’, Harbhanaj reacts after Akash Chopra-Venkatesh Prasad controversy
Indian team’s experienced opener batsman KL Rahul is not seen performing as expected for a long time. It is also seen that due to this modest performance of Rahul, the former veterans of the cricket world have come face-to-face on social media. In this way, India’s former legendary spinner Harbhajan Singh made a tweet in an attempt to calm the heated atmosphere.
Despite his poor form, KL Rahul was picked in the squad for the Border Gavaskar Trophy against Australia. Rahul’s batting has been quiet in the first two matches of this four-match Test series and this has seen heavy criticism on social media. It is also being speculated that Rahul will not get a chance to play in the third Test match starting on March 1. Rahul was named after the BCCI announced the squad for the last two matches on Sunday (February 20), but he was stripped of the vice-captaincy position.
According to former Indian fast bowler Venkatesh Prasad (), Rahul should be shown his way out of the team due to his continuous poor performances. On the other hand, former opener Akash Chopra has supported Rahul. It was also seen that the atmosphere was on fire between these two over Rahul’s issue. Similarly, Harbhajan Singh has expressed hope that Rahul will overcome his poor form in the third and fourth Test matches. “Can we leave KL Rahul alone? He has not committed any crime. He is still the best player today. He will make a good comeback. We all go through such periods in international cricket. Rahul is not the first and not the last to have such experiences. So please respect the facts and he is your own player. Believe it,” Harbhajan Singh said through a tweet.
Can we leave @klrahul alone guys? He hasn’t done any crime. He is still a top player. He will come back strong.we all go thru such patches in international cricket.he is not the first one and last one. so please respect the fact that he is our own 🇮🇳 player and have faith 🙏

Meanwhile, on Tuesday (February 21), Venkatesh Prasad was invited by Akash Chopra for a discussion on Twitter. But Prasad decided not to participate in the discussion. If we look at Rahul’s performance in the last one year, the statistics appear to be quite disappointing. He has scored at an average of just 17.12 in the last one year. He also led India in the series against Bangladesh when Rohit Sharma was not playing. (Harbanj Singh tweeted in support of KL Rahul)
