‘He mentally…’, Pujara’s father’s big statement after not getting a place in India’s Test team against West Indies

Indian team batsman Cheteshwar Pujara, who is known as a Test specialist, has been dropped from the team for the West Indies tour. Many Indian veterans expressed strong opinions about removing Pujara and giving opportunities to less experienced players. Pujara’s father and coach Arvind Pujara has also expressed his opinion in this. He feels that Pujara will make a comeback in the national team once again.

Cheteshwar Pujara has played his last Test match for India since he was dropped from the team after the final match of the World Test Championship. However, Arvind Pujara said that his son can make a comeback in the national team. He has already started preparations for the Duleep Trophy.

He said, “He is very strong mentally. I cannot comment on the selection. However, from what I have seen, he is batting the best. He was working hard in the nets the same day after the team announcement against the West Indies.” He added, “He has started preparing for the Duleep Trophy and will continue to play for the county. As a father and a coach, there’s no reason for me to believe why he can’t make a comeback.”

Pujara, 35, shared the 9-second video on Twitter on Saturday (June 24). In this video, Pujara is seen practicing batting.

Harbhajan Singh supported Pujara as he was dropped from the team. Harbhajan said, “Cheteshwar Pujara is not there, I am worried because of this. He is a big player of Indian team. Hopefully, he is rested and not dropped. Pujara is the backbone of this team. If you exclude him, the average of the other batsmen has not been good either.”
