The final match of World Test Championship 2023 is being played between India vs Australia. Australia’s explosive batsman Travis Head has shone in this match, which is being played at London’s K Oval from Wednesday (June 07). Head has scored a stunning century. He became the first player in the history of the tournament to achieve such a feat.
Travis Head’s century
In this match, Indian team captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and decided to bowl. However, this decision of Rohit was initially wrong for the Australian batsmen. Meanwhile, although Australia got off to a poor start, their middle order batsmen batted brilliantly. This includes David Warner along with Steve Smith and Travis Head. After Australia’s fourth wicket fell in the form of Marnus Labuschagne, Head came into bat at number five. He scored a blistering century in between.
Head scored 100 off 106 balls in his innings and celebrated his century. He hit 1 six and 14 fours during this run.
First ever century in WTC finals history
Interestingly, this is the second season of the World Test Championship. The final match of the WTC 2021 season pits India against New Zealand. No batsman could score a century in this match. Head has created history by scoring a century against India. Head became the first batsman to score a century in a WTC final. (Travis head hit century in wtc final 2023 and create history)
