Speaking to the media, Mohit said, “I could not sleep. I kept thinking what I could have done differently to win the match. If I had bowled this or that first ball, what would have happened? This is not a good feeling. Something has been lost somewhere, but I am trying to come forward.”

He said he could not bowl the yorker properly, which Jadeja took advantage of. Mohit said, “I ran and tried to bowl the yorker again. I just wanted to focus and believe in myself. That’s what we did throughout the IPL. The ball fell where it shouldn’t have landed and hit Jadeja’s bat. I tried, I tried to give my best.”

Speaking further, Mohit also said that, “My mind was clear, what I wanted to do. Even in nets I have prepared for such situations. Also I have played in such situations. At that time, I thought, all balls are bowled by yorkers and I believed in what I had decided.”

Mohit played 14 matches in the season. In it, he took 27 wickets at an economy rate of 8.17. He is the second highest wicket-taker for Gujarat. Apart from him, Mohammad Shami is on top with 28 wickets. Also, in third place is Rashid Khan who has taken 27 wickets in 17 matches.
