Eagle Nashik Titans defeated Chhatrapati Sambhaji Kings (CSK) by 4 runs in the second match of Maharashtra Premier League (MPL 2023) organized by Maharashtra Cricket Association. Although the team lost by four runs, CSK skipper Rajvardhan Hungergekar mesmerized everyone with his batting with a short innings.

CSK got 196 runs in this match. However, the challenge was eventually reduced to 157 in 15 overs due to rain. After a good performance by the openers, the middle order batsmen took a hit. After Abhishek Pawar was dismissed on the first ball of the twelfth over, Rajvardhan Hungergekar came to the field. At that time they needed 52 runs to win. With the team needing 38 runs in the last two overs, Rajvardhan attacked Nashik bowler Izaan Saeed’s bowling. After hitting a six through extra cover on the first ball, he hit the same shot again on the third ball to recover six runs. He changed the equation of the match by hitting a six towards the front off the fourth ball. However, unfortunately he was caught on the fifth ball. The team lost by four runs as other batsmen failed to score 16 runs in the last over.

Arshin Kulkarni’s 60, Harshad Khadiwale’s 43 and Dhanraj Shinde’s unbeaten 35 scored Nashik’s 195 runs in this match. Trunkwala and Navale started strongly for CSK. However, Prashant Solanki and other bowlers bowled at the right time and gave the team victory. Arshin Kulkarni was Man of the Match.
