The 54th match of the Indian Premier League 2023 tournament was played at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. In this match Mumbai Indians vs Royal Challengers Bangalore teams faced each other. Mumbai Indians won this one-sided match despite the huge score. The hero of Mumbai’s victory was Suryakumar Yadav. Mumbai reached the 200-run challenge with ease due to his aggressive batting.

Suryakumar Yadav scored 83 runs off just 35 balls while being challenged for 200 runs for the third consecutive match. During these runs he hit 6 sixes and 7 fours. He made the 200-run challenge look too small with spectacular knocks from all four sides of the field. During this innings, he once again showed his best to cross his 200 runs.

Earlier in the match against Punjab, he scored 57 off 26 balls while chasing more than 200 runs. He managed to score 23 runs against Gujarat. The team lost both these matches. However, since then Mumbai have won three matches in a row while chasing more than 200 runs. In this, Surya has scored 55 off 22 balls against Rajasthan, 66 off 31 balls against Punjab and now 83 off 35 balls.

In this match, Mumbai Indians won the toss and invited RCB to bat first. On this occasion, Royal Challengers Bangalore, who came out to bat first, scored 199 runs with the loss of 6 wickets on the strength of captain Faf du Plessis and Glenn Maxwell’s half-centuries. The Mumbai team passed this challenge by scoring 200 runs in 16.3 overs losing 4 wickets. Suryakumar Yadav along with Ishaan Kishan and Nehal Vadhera played strongly and Mumbai won by 6 wickets.
