The final match of the World Test Championship 2023 will be played from June 7. In this match India vs Australia team will be face to face. Ahead of this match, discussions about the playing eleven of the Indian team have arisen. Many former players are expressing their opinions. Recently, former Indian player Harbhajan Singh said that KS Bharath should be given a chance to replace Ishan Kishan in India’s playing XI for the WTC final. However, now he has retracted his statement.
42-year-old former India player Harbhajan Singh has said that he has no faith in KS Bharat’s batting abilities. According to him, Ishan Kishan can bat aggressively like Rishabh Pant. Thus the Indian team led by Rohit Sharma should consider keeping him in the squad for the final match.
Interestingly, KS Bharath has played 4 Test matches for India so far, but he has not been able to contribute significantly. Kishan, on the other hand, is yet to make his Test debut, but he performed well in the recently concluded IPL 2023 season.
What did Harbhajan say?
Harbhajan said, “Why should Ishan Kishan be considered next to Bharat? I think this will make the batting even stronger. Because, Ishan Kishan can play the new ball better than Bharat. He is also an opener and is in good form. So if the second new ball is bowled after 80 overs and Ishan goes in to bat, he can also play as an opener.”
“Rishabh Pant is an explosive batsman and Ishaan Kishan has the same quality. Bharat is brilliant behind the wicket, but I don’t have much faith in Bharat’s batting.”
The final match
Australia’s star bowler Josh Hazlewood is also out before the WTC Final. He will be replaced by Michael Nesser, while Hazlewood is expected to be replaced by Scott Boland in the final eleven. Talking about the Indian team, none of the players are away from injury yet. The India vs Australia final will be played at London’s K Oval from June 7 to 11.
