Indian legend Virat Kohli decided to quit the captaincy of the team last year. Before Virat stepped down as captain in 2022, India won several important victories under his leadership. But Virat could not win the team in any ICC tournament. Speaking on the RCB podcast, Virat spoke about the same thing and said that fans consider him a failed captain.

The Indian team led by Virat Kohli played the final match of the ICC World Test Championship as well as the semi-final match of the ICC World Cup. But both times the team had to accept defeat. The Indian team’s performance under Virat’s leadership has always been a topic of discussion. Although he has won many series for the team, Virat also regrets not winning the World Cup. Speaking on RCB podcast, Virat discussed all these topics in detail. Virat also discussed his relationship with former legendary captain MS Dhoni.

Virat Kohli was speaking on the RCB podcast. He said, “Under his leadership, the Indian team played in the final of the Champions Trophy, the final of the ICC Test Championship and the semi-final of the ICC Men’s World Cup. But still he is counted among the failed captains.” Virat played under MS Dhoni for several years of his career and later Dhoni gave him captaincy lessons. Virat also openly discussed his relationship with Dhoni.

“When JV I was going through a bad time, apart from his family, he got Dhoni’s support. I have a lot of respect for Dhoni. I can discuss anything with him. Whenever I call him, 99 percent of the time he doesn’t pick up the phone. Because he is not looking at the phone. But it also happened twice, he messaged me and asked me when are you going to make a big comeback. This brought back my old form. I have always seen Dhoni as a very confident and mentally strong person,” added Virat. Meanwhile, Virat is currently playing for the Indian team in the Border Gavaskar Test series against Australia. India has taken a 2-0 lead by winning the first two matches of the series.
