“A few days ago, when I went to the hospital for health reasons, I realized something. Someone fed me mercury. As doctors say it is slow poison. I suffered from this for seven or eight years. However, nothing is known about who exactly did it.”
Nazir further said,
“After my career, I spent a lot of time in the hospital. Whatever wealth I had earned from playing cricket was spent on my treatment. When I had nothing, I asked Shahid Afridi for help. He also showed magnanimity and spent 50-60 lakh rupees on me. I will be indebted to him for the rest of my life.”
Imran Nazir was known as Pakistan’s aggressive opener. He gained a lot of fame in T20 cricket. However, his career ended prematurely. He represented Pakistan in 112 matches at international level.
