The International Cricket Council (ICC) took an important decision on Thursday (July 13). It was announced that the amount will be the same for all ICC men’s and women’s cricket tournaments going forward. This decision is being welcomed by the cricket world. The decision was taken during the ICC annual meeting held in Durban, South Africa.

ICC President Greg Barkley said, “This is a significant moment in the history of the game and I am delighted that male and female cricketers competing in ICC world events will now be rewarded equally. We have been mulling over this decision for the past few years. The amount will be same between ODI World Cup, T20 World Cup and U19 World Cup.”
The winning team of the 2019 Men’s ODI World Cup was given an amount of around four lakh US dollars. So, the winner of the 2022 Women’s ODI World Cup will receive a prize of 1.32 lakh US dollars. Last year, the England team that won the Men’s T20 World Cup received a prize money of 1.6 lakhs. So, the winner of this year’s Women’s T20 World Cup, Australia, was given 1 lakh US dollars.
Many important decisions were also taken in this ICC meeting. In this, the amount of fines for various mistakes committed on the field was decided at this time. In T20 leagues in various countries, seven players from the host country have been made mandatory in the final 11. Apart from this, it was decided in this meeting how the upcoming ODI World Cup will be organized in India.
