In Ahmedabad, Ashwin has not one, but three big records to his name, a huge lead for Australia

The fourth Test match between India and Australia is being played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. In the first innings of the Ahmedabad Test, Australia played an amazing innings and took the team’s score to 480 runs. On the other hand, Ravichandran Ashwin took the maximum 6 wickets for India. Jadeja’s 6-wicket haul on Friday (March 10) brought some important records to his name.

This border Gavaskar Test series between India and Australia (IND vs AUS) is in its last leg. The last match between the two teams started on Thursday (March 9). Australia scored 255 for 4 on the first day. On the second day, Usman Khawaja and Cameron Green opened the innings and helped the team build a big score. Green and Khawaja put on a 208-run partnership for the fifth wicket. Green Ravichandran Ashwin was caught in the hands of wicketkeeper KS Bharat and the Australian team suffered a loss. Apart from that, Ashwin also took five wickets of Travis Head, Alex Carey, Mitchell Starc, Todd Murphy and Nathan Lyon.

After taking one and five wickets on the second day of the Ahmedabad Test, Ashwin claimed three important records. After this match, Ashwin became the highest five-wicket haul for India in Test cricket at home. Ashwin surpassed former legend Anik Kumble to take the number one spot in this regard. Kumble took five wicket hauls 25 times in his Test career. While Ashwin took the hall of five wickets for the 26th time on Friday.

Also, on the strength of these six wickets, Aswin also became the bowler who took the most wickets in this year’s Border Gavaskar Test series. Ashwin has taken the most wickets in this series so far this year with 24 wickets followed by Ravindra Jadeja who took 22 wickets. Third on the list is Australian legend Nathan Lyon, who has taken 19 wickets in the series. Apart from this, Ashwin Border also became the highest wicket-taker for India in the history of the Gavaskar Trophy. Ashwin has surpassed Anil Kumble in terms of most boundary Gavaskar wickets. Kumble took a total of 111 wickets in his Border Gavaskar career. However, Ashwin reached the top spot on the list with 113 wickets.

Meanwhile, considering this match between two teams, Australia scored 480 runs in the first innings. In reply, India scored 36 not out until the end of the second day’s play. Captain Rohit Sharma remains on the pitch with 17 runs, while Shubman Gill has 18 runs. Rohit and Gill will open India’s innings on the third day of the match. Australia is currently leading by 444 runs.
