IND vs AUS: Big mistake by Virat in Test match, Australian legend says…
The Indian team dominated the first day of the first Test match against Australia. Excellent bowling and batting was seen from the Indian team. But in the meantime, 2 big mistakes made by the former captain of the team, Virat Kohli, cost the team dearly. Virat is known for his tremendous fielding. But he dropped two important catches on the first day of the Nagpur Test. Former Australian commentator Mark Waugh commented on Virat’s catch.
Virat Kohli dropped the catches of Australia team’s (IND vs AUS) star batsmen Steve Smith (Steve Smith) and Peter Handscomb (Peter Handscomb). Smith scored 37 and Handscomb scored 31 in Australia’s first innings. Mark Waugh said during commentary, “To move fast, you have to have both feet close together. Kohli was very forward with his fielding. He wanted a little back. Virat could have done better. It seems that he did not expect to take this catch.”
Virat dropped both these catches while fielding in the slips. He took the first catch in the 16th over and gave life to Steve Smith. Smith looked to hit a cover drive on the first ball of this over, but the ball edged his bat and went into Virat’s hands in the sweeps. Virat tried to take this catch from Smith, but he failed.
After this, in the second session of the first day, Virat (Virat Kohli) dropped the handscomb catch. A delivery from Ravindra Jadeja hit the edge of Handscomb’s bat and went into the hands of wicketkeeper KS Bharath. The ball deflected off KS Bharat’s gloves and towards Virat Kohli who was standing in the slips. Kohli tried, but this time too he failed. Virat fails to reach the ball and Handscomb gets a life.
