India Australia match stopped due to a spectator, video of funny incident going viral
On the second day of the Ahmedabad Test, the stadium witnessed an incident which is not likely to be seen in international matches. In the last session on the second day, after the Indian team came out to bat, Shubman Gill lost the ball due to a six. The ground staff struggled to find the ball, but eventually a fan found it. A video of a young fan is currently going viral on social media.
The Ahmedabad Test pitch is different from the first three matches and looks more batting friendly. After winning the toss, Australia elected to bat first and scored 480 runs. In reply, India scored 36 not out until the end of the second day’s play. Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill have scored 17 and 18 runs respectively and both remain on the pitch. Nathan Lyon came in to bowl the last over of the second day.
On the second ball of this over from Lion, Indian opener Gill used his legs to hit a straight and long six. The six hit by Ginn fell close to the side screen and lost the ball. The ground staff of Narendra Modi Stadium was running to find the ball, but they could not find it. Panchanti stopped the game for some time as the ball could not be found. The umpires then thought of starting the game with the second ball, but the Australian team did not want to play with the new ball. Just like that, a fan present in the field approached the side screen, found the ball and threw it into the field. The match did not have to be stopped for long because of this fan. These fans have the attention of everyone in the ground while searching for the ball and the video is going viral on social media. After he found the ball, the fans in the ground cheered him on by clapping.
