“India-Pakistan match lacks quality”, ex-captain’s scathing reaction
In international cricket, fans turn out in large numbers to watch traditional matches between the two countries. The rivalry between India and Pakistan is well colored in all three forms of cricket. Both these teams will face each other again in the upcoming World Cup. Fans all over the world are eager for this match. At the same time, former Indian team captain and former BCCI president Sourav Ganguly has made a big statement about this match.
The ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 schedule has been announced. The match between India and Pakistan will be played in Ahmedabad on October 15. Whenever there is a match between India and Pakistan, the fans of both the countries want their team not to lose. So there is pressure on both the teams. When it comes to ODI World Cup, Indian team is yet to lose a single match against Pakistan. The two teams have faced each other seven times in the World Cup so far, with the Indian team winning each time.
Speaking in an interview on this issue, Ganguly said,
“India has always beaten Pakistan one-sidedly in World Cups. So I think India-Australia match will be more exciting than India-Pakistan in this World Cup. The India-Pakistan match was only talked about but now it is no longer a status.”
Pakistan team is coming to India for the first time since the 2016 T20 World Cup. No bilateral series is played between the two teams. Many people have also opposed this match, and a joint security team of Pakistan Government and Pakistan Cricket Board will come and inspect the grounds in India. Only then will Pakistan participate in the World Cup.
