Indians name only on special awards including the Border-Gavaskar Trophy; Virat became the man of the match, while ‘he’ became the man of the series

Australia team has arrived in India for Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2023 4 Test series along with 3 ODI series. The Test series ended on Monday (March 13). The fourth Test match played in Ahmedabad was a draw. With this, India won the series 2-1. Interestingly, this was India’s fourth consecutive win in the last four series. In this, the players of both the teams shone in the four-match Test series. However, both the important awards were won by Indian players. In this article we are going to know about the award winning Indian athletes.

Virat Kohli man of the match
After the fourth test match, the name of the man of the match award was announced. This award was given to Virat Kohli, the explosive batsman of the Indian team. The reason behind giving this award is Virat’s storming innings in the last match. He faced 364 balls while chasing Australia’s 480-run challenge. He scored the highest 186 runs while facing these balls. He did not take the help of a single sixer while making these runs. He hit 15 fours this time. This was Virat’s 10th man of the match award in Tests.

Interestingly, Virat is the second highest run scorer in the entire series. He has scored 297 runs at an average of 49.50 while batting in 6 innings from 4 matches. Virat’s knock of 186 is the highest score in the series. Also, Usman Khawaja tops the list of highest runs with 333 runs.

Serial Hero Award ‘Ya’ to two Indians
R Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja took the most wickets in the four-match Test series. Ashwin took 25 wickets in the entire series at an average of 17.28 and an economy rate of 2.59. Also, Jadeja took 22 wickets at an average of 18.86 and an economy rate of 2.57. Both of them occupied the first two places in the list of bowlers who took the most wickets. Hence, R Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja were honored with the Man of the Series Award. Interestingly, Ashwin managed to take a combined 7 wickets in both innings of the last match of the series, while Jadeja managed to take only one wicket.
