Is Samson being treated unfairly? Neglect from team management despite quality performance in ODIs

The second match of the three-match ODI series between India and Australia was played in Visakhapatnam. Visiting Australia won the match by 10 wickets, avenging their defeat in the first match of the series. All the Indian batsmen failed in this match. After Indian team’s leading batsman faltered for the second consecutive match, fans on social media are now demanding Sanju Samson’s place in the team.

In the second ODI at Visakhapatnam, the Indian team was bowled out for just 117 runs. In the first match too, India lost their top four batsmen cheaply. Why is Sanju Samson not given a chance? Fans have started asking this question. Many said that Sanju should be given a chance, especially since Suryakumar Yadav has been consistently failing.

Sanju Samson did not get a place in this ODI team after his good performance. He has so far scored 330 runs at an average of 66 in 10 ODIs in his career. This includes two fifties. Interestingly, no batsman in the current Indian team averages as much as him.

Currently, Sanju is preparing for IPL 2023. He will lead the Rajasthan Royals team in the IPL. Last year under his leadership Rajasthan team reached the final. This time he will be aiming to win the title. If he excels as a batsman as well, his name can be considered for the upcoming ODI World Cup. The ODI World Cup will be played in India in the month of October-November.
