Former Indian cricketer Akash Chopra has made a big prediction about Delhi Capitals. Delhi Capitals have yet to win a single match in this year’s IPL season. Delhi lost their fourth straight match of the season against Mumbai Indians on Tuesday (April 11). After this defeat, Akash Chopra made a big prediction about Delhi.
The IPL 2023 (IPL 2023) season for Delhi Capitals has been challenging from the start. Delhi’s regular captain Rishabh Pant is unable to play this year’s IPL due to injury. In Pant’s absence, David Warner was appointed as the captain of RCB. But Delhi lost four matches of the season under his leadership. Akash Chopra also took aim at Warner while speaking on his YouTube channel. According to Chopra, the Delhi Capitals team will not make it to the playoffs this year.
On his YouTube channel, Akash Chopra said, “Delhi lost all four matches. It is almost certain that the team is not going to make the playoffs anymore. David Warner is playing very well… but is he really playing well? This is a big question. He is running. Has scored three fifties in four matches, but has not hit a single six yet. He has played nearly 200 balls and is yet to hit a six.”
Meanwhile, Delhi Capitals suffered a 6-wicket defeat against Mumbai Indians at their home ground Arun Jaitley Stadium on Tuesday. Captain David Warner and Akshar Patel scored half-centuries for Delhi in this match. But in reply, Mumbai managed to win with a brilliant performance in both the bowling and batting departments. Mumbai were given a target of 173 runs to win, which they achieved on the last ball. Mumbai captain Rohit Sharma scored a half-century in IPL after a long time. Rohit was adjudged man of the match after scoring 65 off 45 balls. (Delhi Capitals will not make it to the playoffs, says Akash Chopra)
