“The Mohali ODI against Australia in 2013 is the worst match of my career. That match was lost because of me. I was very disappointed with that defeat. At the same time I was dating my wife. I used to call her and tell her how I was responsible for the defeat and cry. I was in the same situation for almost a month.”

He added,

“One good thing then was that Mahi Bhai and Shikhar came to my room. He gave me courage. That one match gave me the impression that I was not bowling well with the white ball.”

The story of the match Ishant narrated is from the 2013 India vs Australia Test series. Australia needed 44 runs in 4 overs to win that match. However, James Faulkner scored 30 runs in his over to tilt the match in Australia’s favour. In the end, Australia won the match by three balls.
