However, on Friday (June 30), Sri Lanka Women vs New Zealand Women’s ODI, the umpires made a mistake, setting a unique record. Such a record could not be achieved till date in the history of ODI cricket.

Eden Carson bowled 11 overs in the match
The second match of the 3-match ODI series between Sri Lanka and New Zealand was played at the Galle Stadium. In this match, the Sri Lankan team came to chase the challenge of New Zealand. Meanwhile, New Zealand bowler Eden Carson (Eden Carson) bowled 11 overs in ODI. Carson had completed his 10 overs as he bowled the 45th over of the match. However, due to a mistake by the umpires, the New Zealand bowler bowled his 11th over in the 47th over of the innings. This was the first time in the history of ODI cricket that any bowler bowled 11 overs.

Eden Carson bowled brilliantly and scored just 41 runs in 11 overs. Also, two of Sri Lanka’s legendary batsmen rushed into the tent. She took the wickets of Harshita Samarwickrama and Kavisha Dilhari. Carson conceded just 1 run off 5 balls in the 11th over.

New Zealand level the series
New Zealand have tied the three-match ODI series 1-1. In the second match against Sri Lanka, New Zealand won by 111 runs. Batting first, New Zealand scored 329 runs. In this, captain Sophie Devine and Amelia Kerr scored centuries. Both made a record partnership of 229 runs for the third wicket. This became the largest partnership against Sri Lanka in ODI cricket. Amelia Kerr smashed 108 runs, while Sophie made a storming knock of 137 off 121 balls. Chasing the challenge of 330 runs, Sri Lanka’s innings ended on 218 runs only. So New Zealand won by 111 runs.
