Jaddu’s ‘double century’ in T20! Milestone passed by breaking Royals’ innings

In IPL 2023, a match was played between Chennai Super Kings vs Rajasthan Royals on Wednesday (April 12). Chennai captain MS Dhoni won the toss and decided to bowl first in this match which was played at the Chepauk Stadium in Chennai. Despite Rajasthan’s good start, experienced Ravindra Jadeja bowled economically to keep Rajasthan at bay. Along with this, he also crossed a special milestone in his T20 career.

Jadeja’s bowling has been in good form this season. He kept this form in this match as well. He dismissed Devdutt Padikkal who was leading Rajasthan’s innings at pace. Then on the next ball, Rajasthan captain Sanju Samson was shown the way to the tent without even opening his account. He then missed his hat-trick when Moeen Ali was caught off the next ball. Jadeja took 2 wickets while bowling 4 overs in this match. He restricted Rajasthan’s innings to 175, which at one time seemed to pass 200.

Jadeja has so far taken 51 wickets in 64 matches in international T20 cricket. In IPL, he has taken 138 wickets in 214 matches. Whereas, the remaining 11 wickets have been taken while playing domestic cricket for Saurashtra.

Jadeja started his IPL career in 2008 with Rajasthan Royals. After that he also represented Kochi Tuskers Kerala and Gujarat Lions. Jadeja is only the second bowler after Dwayne Bravo to take more than 100 wickets in the IPL for Chennai. Also, he becomes the only cricketer to score 2000 runs and 100 wickets in IPL.
