‘Jadeja healed without listening to my advice’, recalls old incident from Indian legend

The Indian team won the second Test match played in Delhi on Sunday (February 19). India defeated Australia by 6 wickets in the second match. With this win, India took a 2-0 lead in the series. Ravindra Jadeja was honored with the man of the match award for his performance in this match. Jadeja has been consistently performing well in Test cricket. At the same time, former Indian player Mohammad Kaif said that he did well not to listen to the advice he had given to Jadeja six-seven years ago.

Jadeja took 3 wickets while bowling 21 overs for 68 runs in Australia’s first innings of this match. He then bowled Australia’s second innings with 47 runs in 12.1 overs to take the highest 7 wickets. He also managed to take seven wickets in the first Test at Nagpur.

Speaking on this issue, former Indian cricketer and commentator Mohammad Kaif made a revelation. He said that he did not follow one of the advices he gave to Jadeja. Kaif said,

“Six or seven years ago, when I was the coach of the Gujarat Lions team, I gave a piece of advice to Jadeja. I called it Carrom Ball and Side Arm Action Bowling. However, while refusing, he had said that if I do that, I will not be able to bowl well in Test cricket. Now I’m glad he didn’t listen to my advice.”

In IPL 2016 and 2017, Gujarat Lions team participated in IPL for two years. At that time, Kaif was the team’s fielding coach. In Raina’s absence, Jadeja led the team in a few matches.
