Jaiswal’s 1000th match of IPL is unforgettable! A historic innings of 124 runs played at Wankhede

The second match of IPL 2023 was played on Sunday (April 30) as Mumbai Indians vs Rajasthan Royals. It became the 1000th match in IPL history. Batting first, Rajasthan Royals made 212 for 7 in this match which was held at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Youngster Yashasvi Jaiswal, who opened for Rajasthan, single-handedly led the team to his maiden IPL century.

Rajasthan captain Sanju Samson won the toss and decided to bat first surprising everyone. His decision was justified by Jos Buttler and Yashasvi Jaiswal. Both scored 72 runs in 7 overs. Even after Buttler’s dismissal, Jaiswal continued his form to complete another half-century.

Yashasvi continued his innings while other batsmen were getting dismissed from one side. He took care of all the bowlers to complete his first IPL century off 53 balls. Interestingly, he plays domestic cricket for Mumbai on this ground.

He scored 124 runs off 62 balls with the help of 16 fours and 8 sixes before being dismissed in the last over. This was the best knock by any uncapped player in the IPL. This record was previously held by Paul Walshty. He scored 120 runs for Punjab in 2011.
