“Jitesh will soon see an Indian”, a suggestive statement from a selection committee member

Punjab Kings performance in IPL 2023 looks to be mixed. Punjab have lost five of their ten matches and won five of them. Wicketkeeper batsman Jitesh Sharma has been an important contributor to Punjab’s success. Jitesh is playing an important role in Punjab’s big score by consistently batting fast. After his performance, Punjab coach and former member of selection committee Sunil Joshi has made an important statement.

Last year, Jitesh won everyone’s heart with his aggressive batting. He played the most decisive role for the team this season. His aggressive play in almost every match helped Punjab to score huge runs. Talking about his performance, Joshi said,

“Jitesh is playing tremendously. He showed his quality and that earned him a chance in the Indian team. The performances he has shown in the IPL and domestic cricket over the last 18 months make him stand out among other wicket-keeper batsmen.”

He replaced Sanju Samson in the Indian squad for the T20I series against Australia before the IPL. However, he did not get a chance in the final eleven. Some other critics also said that he could soon become a key member of the Indian team.

Jitesh has so far scored 239 runs at an average of 26.56 in 10 matches in IPL 2023. Meanwhile, his strike rate has been more than 165. Also, 16 sixes have come from his bat.
