“I wouldn’t put Gill in the Sachin-Gavaskar category right now. You know he has talent, but it’s not fair to compare him to the big players anymore. I would like to see him play one more season. Because, bowlers understand the weaknesses of batsmen after a season or two. If any batsman plays well for 3-4 consecutive seasons, then we can say, he is great.”

Speaking further, Kapil Paji also said, “Now is a good time for Shubman Gill. However, I want to see how he bounces back when his form goes. Many cricketers perform well initially, but later fail. Look at Suryakumar Yadav, he has consistently been a golden duck after good form. However, he had made a comeback.”
