Royal Challengers Bangalore have signed veteran Indian batsman Kedar Jadhav for the remainder of the IPL season. He was given a chance to replace injured all-rounder David Willey. Unsold Kedar’s return to the IPL auction was a surprise to all. Kedar, who was doing commentary during the IPL, has revealed how he suddenly got an opportunity.
Halfway through the season of the tournament, Kedar was picked for RCB. David Willey’s return home took the place. According to this agreement, he will be paid Rs 1 crore. Talking about his comeback, he said,
“I was doing commentary. At that time I got a call from Sanjay Bangar. After being asked what I was doing, I said I was doing commentary. After he asked me if I am practicing and how is my fitness, I replied that I am practicing twice a week and I am fit. At that time he told me that he will call me again.”
He went on to say,
“That’s when I knew I might get a chance. I was completely surprised and excited. I will give 110 per cent for the team’s victory.”
Kedar was criticizing after not being sold in the IPL.
Kedar has scored 1196 runs in 93 matches so far in his IPL career. Kedar made his IPL debut in 2010 for Delhi Daredevils. He then showed his skills for Kochi Tuskers Kerala, RCB, Delhi, Chennai Super Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad. He has been a part of RCB for two years i.e. 2016 and 2017.
