Khawaja-Green made history! Became the third Australian pair to do ‘this’ feat in India

Opener Usman Khawaja and Cameron Greene have put Australia in a strong position in the fourth Test. These Australian players played an important role in crossing the milestone of more than 400 runs on the second day of the match. The team is on course for 500 runs. In the Ahmedabad Test match, these Australian bowlers have created a record by removing the feathers of the Indian bowling. After watching Khawaja score a century on the first day, Green also celebrated a century on the second day. Green was dismissed for 114 runs after his century. However, he completed a 200-run partnership with Khawaja before returning to the tent. Thus a special record was recorded in his name.

Usman Khawaja and Cameron Greene created an incredible record of 200-plus runs partnership. They became only the third Australian pair to have a partnership of 200 or more runs in India. They shared a partnership of 208 runs. It included Khawaja’s 93 and Green’s 114. It is also Australia’s second-highest partnership against India.

Not only that, but Khawaja and Green are only the second duo after 2013 to have a 200-plus run partnership in Tests on Indian soil against the Indian team. Earlier in Chennai Test in 2021, England’s Dominic Sibley and Joe Root made a partnership of 200 runs.

Cameron Green fell victim to Ashwin on the second ball of the 131st over. Thus the partnership between Usman Khawaja and Cameron Green was broken on 208 runs. This time Green scored 114 runs off 170 balls with the help of 18 fours. It was his first century. (208 run stand between Umsan Khawaja and Cameron Green is the highest by any pair against India in India in the last 10 years)
