What did Virat say?
In India vs Australia in the fourth Test in Ahmedabad, Virat stopped the critics by scoring a stormy half century. He commented after the match was drawn. He said, “I need a lot more hope from myself. I haven’t played to my heart’s content in a while. I also played some good innings. The idea was to play for a long time, but it was also believed that a good pitch would put up a big score. I played my way, it was a sigh of relief. In that sense, it was not a relief to have a big performance.”
Speaking further, Virat said, “I don’t think I want to prove anyone wrong. I was happy that I played a big innings for the team. We talked about playing positively on the third day. However, when Shreyas Iyer got injured, the plan changed a bit. We wanted to keep Australia on the field for a long time after that, and that was a big achievement for us.”
Virat scored a brilliant century on the fourth day of the Ahmedabad Test match. It was his 28th century in Test career. Virat ended his drought of Test centuries after 3 years, 3 months and 20 days.
