Kishan withdrew from Duleep Trophy only because of ‘this’ reason, now he will do ‘this’ work

Indian team’s star wicket-keeper batsman Ishan Kishan had decided to withdraw from the Duleep Trophy a few days ago. He was selected in the Eastern Division team. Many criticized his decision. However, now he has revealed the reasons behind this decision. He is said to have taken this decision to play more for the Indian team in the future.

When Kishan was asked to select the team for the Duleep Trophy, he refused to play in the tournament. After that, he said,

“I have been playing consistently for some time now. I also spent some time in England after playing in the IPL for two months. So during the Duleep Trophy, I will be spending time at the National Cricket Academy in Bangalore. Will improve my game there and prepare for the upcoming West Indies series.”

Indian team will play all three series against West Indies from July 12. Although Ishaan is a regular member of India’s ODI and T20 squads, he is yet to make his Test debut. He may get this opportunity on the West Indies tour. If KS Bharat fails in this series, Ishan will become the main wicket keeper for the Indian team.
