Gambhir also said on this occasion that ex-players always give such statements to stay in the news. Gambhir is believed by many to have indirectly targeted Venkatesh Prasad, who had demanded Rahul’s exclusion from the team. Meanwhile, under the leadership of Rahul, Lucknow Super Giants finished third in the IPL points table last year.
