‘Knelt too early in Test cricket’, former legend’s big reaction to Hardik Pandya
India’s veteran all-rounder Hardik Pandya has played the final in both the back-to-back IPL seasons. It was certainly not easy for him to return to the cricket field after the injury. However, Pandya bounced back undeterred and started playing a vital role for the team. Pandya, who played for India in ODI and T20 international cricket after injury, is yet to play in Test format. In this background, the former all-rounder of the South Africa team, Lance Klusener, has given a big reaction.
Hardik Pandya, who is an important part of the Indian team, got injured for the first time during the Asia Cup in 2018. At that time he was literally taken off the field with the help of a stretcher. Meanwhile, he kept dropping in and out of the team due to injuries. But he is yet to make a comeback in the Test format. It has now been nearly five years since the injury and fans have yet to see him in Test form. According to many, Hardik has somehow ruined Test cricket forever. Against this backdrop, former South Africa cricketer Lance Klusner feels that Pandya has retired from Test cricket too easily. According to him, Hardik should have tried harder to make a comeback in this format.
Klusner has recently been appointed as the coach of the Tripura Cricket Association. After assuming this new role, he interacted with reporters in Kolkata. Speaking at a press conference, Lance Klusener said, “Hardik Pandya seems to have bowed to Test cricket too early. According to me, your stature as a cricketer is known only from Test cricket. That’s how you get recognition.”
Meanwhile, like IPL 2022, this year also Gujarat Titans under the leadership of Hardik will lift the IPL trophy, the situation came in the final match of IPL 2023. But with 10 runs needed off the last two balls, Ravindra Jadeja hit a six and a four to make the trophy fifth for Chennai Super Kings.
