‘Kohli lied, 9 people are witnesses’, Chetan Sharma’s big claim on Virat-Ganguly controversy

Shocking news is coming out from Indian cricket. Chetan Sharma, the Chief Selector of the Board of Control for Cricket in India i.e. BCCI, has created an earthquake in Indian cricket by making many sensational claims. In a sting operation, he has made some revelations, which may lead to many things happening in Indian cricket in the future. The issue of Virat Kohli’s resignation which was discussed almost a year ago has come up once again due to this sting operation.

Recently a news channel conducted a sting operation. Meanwhile, Chetan Sharma was seen revealing many things. Indian captain Virat Kohli resigned from his T20 captaincy in September 2021. After India’s poor performance in the World Cup, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) made Rohit Sharma the regular captain in T20Is and ODIs ahead of the upcoming tour of South Africa.

The then BCCI president Sourav Ganguly had said that he had urged Virat Kohli to reconsider his decision to step down as captain. After that, Virat said directly in the press conference that no one tried to convince him like this.

Speaking on the same issue in this sting operation, Chetan Sharma said,

“We didn’t want two captains for a limited overs team. The decision to make Rohit captain was mine and the selection committee’s. However, the egos of Virat and Ganguly clashed. Ganguly, in a video conferencing meeting, urged Virat not to leave the captaincy and asked him to reconsider. Nine people were present in that meeting. Maybe Virat didn’t hear about it.”

After Chetan Sharma’s sting operation, many serious issues still seem to have come to the fore.
