Leaving her first love, ‘she’ took the hand of cricket, Googly is troubling veteran players in the WPL tournament
As the Women’s Premier League 2023 competition draws to a close, one player is grabbing everyone’s attention. The player has also participated in the Under-19 World Cup at the age of 16 and won the title. This player is none other than Parshvi Chopra. Parshvi Chopra is playing for UP Warriors in the WPL. She only got a chance to play in 3 matches, but even in those, Parshvi impressed everyone with her bowling.
Parshavi Chopra played in the Under-19 T20 World Cup before the Women’s Premier League tournament. The Indian team won the tournament which was played for the first time in South Africa. Parshavi Chopra had a valuable contribution in India’s victory. She took 11 wickets in the tournament. She has now shown the same bowling edge in the WPL tournament as well. She worked hard on her googly before the tournament and this benefited her in the tournament as well.
Parshvi impressed with spin in WPL
The 17th match of the WPL 2023 tournament was played between Gujarat Giants and UP Warriors. In this match, Gujarat lost the first 3 wickets early. De Hemlata and Ashley Gardner then put on a partnership of 93 runs. The combination of Hemlata and Gardner was a strong hit against UP’s pace and spinners. UP Warriorz captain Alyssa Healy handed the ball to 16-year-old Parshvi in the last over to break the pair’s partnership. The young spinner trapped both the batsmen in his googly net within 2 overs and stormed into the tent. Thus the Gujarat team could not build a big score. UP won this match by 3 wickets.
An outstanding penultimate over from Parshavi Chopra!
Just five runs and a wicket of Ashleigh Gardner 👏👏

Pashwa’s googly troubled the giants
Parshvi Chopra worked on her bowling during the Under-19 World Cup and the Women’s Premier League. She especially worked hard on her Google. That is why even big players could not score on Parshvi’s ball. This time she focused on taking wickets instead of spending runs.
How did Parshavi become a cricketer?
Like former Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh, Parshvi Chopra’s first love was skating. However, father-grandfather always used to discuss cricket in the house. In 2017, Parshvi herself also saw India lose to England in the final of the Women’s World Cup. After this, Parshvi also decided to make a career in cricket. Also, she gradually left skating and took steps towards becoming a cricketer. She began thinking about playing for India, which culminated in playing in the Under-19 World Cup.
