Lucknow Super Giants and Andy Flower chose different paths! Head coach of IPL franchise left

Indian Premier League franchise Lucknow Super Giants have released Andy Flower. Andy Flower was the head coach for Lucknow Super Giants in the last two IPL seasons. He qualified the team for the playoffs in both seasons. But on Friday (July 14) Shanghai released him from the contract anyway.

The official social media account of Lucknow Super Giants thanked Andy Flower for his service. The post from Lucknow read, “Dear Andy, today is your farewell. But this will never be the last goodbye. Because you will always be one of us. Thank you for everything you have done for the team.”

Andy was part of the Punjab Kings team before being linked with Lucknow Super Giants in IPL 2021. He worked as an assistant coach for Punjab Kings for two IPL seasons. After being linked with Lucknow in 2021, Andy guided the team to two consecutive third-place finishes in the IPL 2022 and 2023 seasons.

Former Zimbabwe captain and wicket-keeper batsman Andy Flower has been one of the most successful coaches of the England cricket team in the past. The final match of the World Test Championship 2021-23 was played between India and Australia. Andy was released with the Australian team a few days before the match. It was revealed that he was brought into the team to give important guidance to the team. (Andy Flower has quit as the head coach of Lucknow Super Giants)
