Fast bowler Mark Wood remained the hero of Lucknow’s victory. He took five wickets for the first time in his T20 career. Along with this, he also made a successful comeback in the IPL.

While chasing the 194 runs given by the Lucknow team, the Delhi team messed up from the beginning. Mark Wood, who came to bowl in the fifth over, bent the wicket of Prithvi Shaw on the third ball. He scored 12 runs. After that, Mitchell Marsh, who came to bat, again bowled the ball at the same pace and destroyed his wickets as well. He also dismissed Sarfraz Khan in the next over. Then in the last over of the innings, he dismissed Akshar Patel and Chetan Sakaria to take five wickets for the first time in his T20 career. He took 5 wickets for 14 runs in 4 overs.

Wood played his last IPL match in 2018 IPL. While playing for Chennai Super Kings at that time, he scored 49 runs against Mumbai Indians. He could not get a single victim in this. However, with his performance in this match, he took the first place among the best bowlers of England in the IPL. Earlier, Dimitri Mascarehans took 5 wickets for 25 runs while playing for Punjab.

Wood was roped in last year by Lucknow Supergiants for a huge sum of Rs 7.50 lakh. However, he suffered an injury before the start of the season. So he could not play a single match that season.
