MPL 2023: Here’s how the play offs will play out, Ratnagiri-Kolhapur have a chance to make it to the finals

The league matches of the Maharashtra Premier League i.e. MPL 2023 organized by the Maharashtra Cricket Association ended on Saturday (June 24). After the end of fifteen league matches, the four teams who will play the play offs have been decided, and the following matches will be played between these teams. Interestingly, play offs matches are going to be played in MPL as well as in IPL.

After the start of the tournament, many expected Puneri Bappa and Eagle Nashik Titans to be the top two teams. However, despite losing at the start, Ratnagiri Jets and Kolhapur Taskers won the first and second positions by winning four each. So the qualifier one match will be played between these two teams. The winner of this match to be held on June 26 will directly enter the finals.

Eagle Nashik Titans won the first three matches as the strongest team in the tournament. But this team led by Rahul Tripathi had to lose the next two matches. The Puneri Bappa team, which started the tournament with a bang by winning two consecutive games, also lost in three matches. Nevertheless, they qualified for the play-offs. The third and fourth ranked teams will play an eliminator match. The losing team will be eliminated from the tournament.

The Qualifier Two match will be played between the loser of Qualifier One and the winner of the Eliminator match. The team that wins this match will enter the finals. The final will be played on June 29. All these matches will be played at MCA Stadium in Gahunje at 8 PM.
