MPL 2023: Kolhapur-Ratnagiri clash in first qualifier, who will get tickets to final?
The play off matches of the Maharashtra Premier League i.e. MPL 2023 organized by the Maharashtra Cricket Association will begin on Monday (June 26). After the end of fifteen league matches, the four teams who will play the play offs have been decided, and the following matches will be played between these teams. Ratnagiri Jets and Kolhapur Tuskers, the top two placed teams, will be seen clashing in the first qualifier match.
Ratnagiri Jets and Kolhapur Tuskers finished first and second with four wins each despite losing at the start. So the qualifier one match will be played between these two teams. The Ratnagiri team had their only defeat against the Kolhapur team. So, Kolhapur team lost to Puneri Bappa team in their opening match. The winner of this match to be held on June 26 will directly enter the finals. The match will start at eight o’clock in the evening.
Ratnagiri team’s batting will mainly depend on captain Azim Kazi, Pritam Patil, Dheeraj Phatangre and Nikhil Naik. All of them have scored at least one half-century while performing brilliantly in the tournament. On the other hand, the bowling department of Ratnagiri team was the best in the tournament. The fast bowling duo of Vijay Pawle and Pradeep Dhade has been consistently successful. Captain Kazi is seen supporting Kunal Thorat in spin bowling. Apart from this, the versatile Divyang Hinganekar has been successful in making his mark.
Kolhapur team will rely mainly on experienced batsmen. Along with skipper Kedar Jadhav, leading run-scorer Ankit Bavane, Naushad Sheikh and Sahil Autade will be the focus. Bowling Nihal Tusamad, Manoj Yadav and Shreyas Chavan will be seen to be useful for the team.
