MPL AUCTION: 319 players from Maharashtra will try their luck, live auction watchable on ‘Ya’ OTT platform
The player auction for the Maharashtra Premier League (MPL) organized by the Maharashtra Cricket Association will be held on Tuesday (June 6), which is starting after a long wait. As many as 319 cricketers of Maharashtra Cricket Association will try their luck in this auction. The auction will be broadcast on live streaming platform Fancode from 2 pm on Tuesday.
In the franchise auction held on Saturday (June 3), the team owners bought six teams for a sum of Rs 57 crore. These include Pune, Kolhapur, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Nashik, Ratnagiri and Solapur. After that, these six teams will bid on the players.
291 senior and 28 under 19 players have been registered for this auction. Each team must have a minimum of 16 players. As each team has already been given an icon player, this auction can see at least 90 players being bid on. Each team is required to have two Under 19 players.
Each team can spend up to 20 lakhs on players in this auction. In this, the players have been classified into three groups namely A, B and C, and their base price will be 60 thousand, 40 thousand and 20 thousand respectively.
Players such as Shamshuzma Kazi, Naushad Sheikh, Prashant Solanki, Divyang Hinganekar and Arshin Kulkarni can fetch huge bids in this auction. The tournament will be held from June 15 at the Maharashtra Cricket Association International Stadium in Gahunje.
