MPL AUCTION: ‘Pancharatne’ sold in first auction, read full list

The Maharashtra Cricket Association has decided to restart the discontinued Maharashtra Premier League this year. A player auction was held for this on Tuesday (June 6). Also, the MPL’s summit committee also decided the names of the six teams that will participate in the tournament. Hailing from Dharashiv, Noshad Sheikh became the highest earning cricketer in ML 2023. Kolhapur Tuskers bought him for Rs 6 lakh. Let’s take a look at the five most expensive players of ML 2023.

ML is starting with a new vigor this year. Puneri Bappa, Kolhapur Tuskers, Eagle Nashik Titans, Chhatrapati Sambhaji Kings, Ratnagiri Jets and Solapur Royals have participated in this tournament. Each team had a limit of Rs 20 lakh to buy players in the auction. With that much money, the teams needed to buy their 16 player squad. But still, teams spent heartily on a handful of players.

Naushad Shaikh had landed in Liliwa with a base price of Rs 60 thousand. But Kolhapur Tuskers bought Naushad for 10 times his base price ie Rs 6 lakh. Divyang Hinganekar also entered the auction with a base price of 60 thousand. But Ratnagiri Jets team spent 4 lakh 60 thousand rupees on him. Yash Nahar’s name is at the third position. Yash with a base price of 60 thousand became the owner of Rs 3 lakh 80 thousand to join Solapur Royals.

The fourth position in the list belongs to Sahil Autade. Sahil entered the MPL auction with a base price of 40 thousand and the Kolsapur team spent Rs 3 lakh 80 thousand to buy him. Satyajit Bachao is at number five. Solapur Royals paid 3 lakh 60 thousand rupees for Satyajit of 60 thousand base price. (These five players were the most expensive in the MPL auction)
