The player auction for the first ever Maharashtra Premier League i.e. MPL 2023 was held in Pune on Tuesday (June 6). Six franchisees participated in this auction. 319 players were registered in this auction. Batsman Naushad Shaikh fetched the highest amount in the Group A qualifying auction.
Batsman Taranjit Dhillon was the first bidder in this auction which was held at Westin Hall in Pune. Kolhapur Tuskers bought him for a price of 1 lakh 60 thousand. Ratnagiri Jets bid 4 lakh 60 thousand and 3 lakh 40 thousand respectively for all-rounder Divyang Hinganekar and wicketkeeper Nikhil Naik. Experienced Ankit Bavane became a Kolhapur player for 2 lakh 80 thousand. Kolhapur Tuskers made the highest bid of 6 lakhs for aggressive batsman Naushad Sheikh.
