MS Dhoni’s big record destroyed! Babar’s second consecutive win against New Zealand is a world record

Pakistan captain Babar Azam scored a victory in the second T20 against New Zealand on Saturday (April 15). Pakistan have won the first two matches of the ongoing five-match T20I series at home to take a 2-0 lead. Captain Babar’s century helped Pakistan beat New Zealand by 38 runs on Saturday. After this match, the big record of Indian legend MS Dhoni was also broken at the hands of Babar.

Babar Azam has now reached joint number one in international T20 cricket. Former India legend MS Dhoni has captained his team in all three formats and his stats have also been impressive. But in the T20 format, Babar has fallen heavily on MS Dhoni. Dhoni captained India in 72 T20Is during his career and won 41 of them. Babar, on the other hand, played the role of captain in the 68th match of his career on Saturday. Babar has led Pakistan to victory in 42 of these matches.

Earlier, former England captain Eoin Morgan and former Afghanistan captain Asghar Afghan held the joint first position in terms of most wins in international T20 cricket. But now Babar has also joined this list. Now Morgan, Afghan and Babar have 42 wins each in T20I cricket and the trio are joint number one. Pakistan still have three matches to play against New Zealand in the ongoing T20 series.

If Pakistan wins one more match under Babar’s leadership, Pakistan will clinch the series at home. But will also achieve the highest number of T20I wins as a captain with 43. The third T20 match between Pakistan and New Zealand will be played on Monday (April 17). The fourth match of the series will be played on April 20, while the fifth match will be played on April 24.
