Mumbai got a new ‘yorker specialist’! Klaassen-Brooke on his knees before Madhwal’s bowling
Mumbai Indians Vs. The 69th match of IPL 2023 was played on Sunday (May 21) in Sunrisers Hyderabad. Batting first, the Hyderabad team scored 200 runs on the strength of their openers’ half-centuries in this match held at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. While batting first, the new opening pair of Mayank Agarwal and Vivrant Sharma scored a century for the Hyderabad team. The duo put on a season-best partnership of 140 runs for the team. He sent Henrik Klaasen, who scored a quick century against RCB in the previous match, and Harry Brook, who scored his first century of the season, in successive balls. He bowled a hat-trick by bowling Klaassen on the fifth ball of the 19th over and a sharp yorker from Brooke on the last ball. Even when he had a chance to take a hat-trick, he couldn’t put the ball away. So, if he takes a wicket on the first ball in the next match of Mumbai Indians, he will have a chance of another hat-trick.
Talking about Akash Madhwal’s career, he represents Uttarakhand in domestic cricket. While training at the Reliance Cricket Academy here, he was selected in the Mumbai Indians team for just Rs 20 lakh. He has taken eight wickets in six matches in the IPL so far. In the absence of Jasprit Bumrah, Akash is being touted as Mumbai’s new yorker specialist.
